My colleague's name is Sebestine Karang and he is Director of a privately owned registered business in PNG.
Sebestine's business name is Mortronix Electronic Networking, providing a range of electronic technology services but specifically, with respect to Community Radio Stations (CRS), Sebestine provides development and technical maintenance support for CRS in PNG and that is where we have our link.
Since the beginning of 2009 I have been mentoring Sebestine in CRS development and support services and he has been actively involved in this role with the Baptist Union of PNG (BUPNG), a National PNG NGO. I have been BUPNG's Radio Consultant in developing CRS in Tekin and Kompiam and we are now planning CRS Stage 3 in Telefomin in which project Sebestine will work alongside of me throughout planning and implementation of the project.
I have also been planning for a CRS project in Tarawa, Kiribati for Telecom Services Kiribati Limited (expecting to be implemented later this year) and Sebestine has been ‘working alongside me' in project proposal preparation and planning. Computer automation of the radio studio is a part of the project for which he will take full responsibility as we implement this project together.
